Life after the honeymoon

So it's almost been two months since we've been married. Kyle started school with 13 credits, is on Student Council in...student life? Also, works on average 20 hours a week at Clark's Tuxedos (no relation). AND makes his wife happy. I'm just working full time at Curecrete Distribution, Inc. and hopefully going back to school in the fall. We are living in Payson right now in a basement apartment. The rent is cheap and our landlord is the best! Coinsedently, that landlord happens to be Kyle's grandma. :) We love our ward, Mountain View 9th ward. We live a couple blocks from the hospital so if anything is to happen to us, we're just right there! Hmmm, nothing really new. We are very, very, VERY happy and absolutely love married life!

Honeymoon

Well, Kyle kept it a secret for months on where we were going for our honeymoon. The first night we stayed at an inn in Salt Lake called Inn on the Hill. It was so...cozy and charming. Then, the next day we left for the airport. I still had no idea where we were headed off to. I probably wouldn't have known until we got to Atlanta where we were going, but the lady at the check in counter wanted to confirm the flights. So when she said, "Mr. Clark, I have two tickets from Salt Lake City to Atlanta, then from Atlanta to St. Thomas. Is that correct?" Kyle looked over at me and I just gave him a huge grin while he shrugged his shoulders. All I can say about the whole trip is PERFECT!

Wedding Day Frenzy

So let's just say we didn't start off our wedding day normal. Well, it appeared to be normal. I woke up all excited to get ready and to see my soon to be husband. Brittany, Kyle's little sister, helped me put on my make up and do my hair. My family and Kyle's family (minus Kyle and Michael) had stayed at the Marriott hotel that was just a block away from the Salt Lake temple, the night before the wedding. We decided to just drive over so my parent's, Kim (Kyle's dad), and I hopped into the suburban. My dad decided to hurry and drop us off before parking the car. I opened the back to grab my bag with my temple clothes, the marriage license, Kyle's ring and the bag with my dress. I pulled out my dress but the bag wasn't there any more. I looked frantically in the back seat, but nothing was there. My dad said he would run back to the hotel and grab them.
My mom and I went in to at least wait and see if Kyle was there. As I was checking in my dress, my mom came up to me and said that the bags were stolen. I asked how she knew that. My dad had called her and said that the girls never took the bags to the room and also the GPS system was missing. So, I stood there thinking "I'm not getting married today". Kyle held me as I tried to hold back the tears.
We went up to the check in counter and told the man what had happened. He said soothing words and reassured us that we were going to get married, that everything will work out. That made me feel much better. Kyle and I walked hand in hand inside where we were ushered to sit. A lady came out asking for our marriage license. I told her that it had been stolen. She then said "so you don't have a marriage license? Your marriage license was stolen?" I started getting a little upset again. For those who don't know, I had put Kyle's ring and the marriage license in the same bag as my temple clothes so everything would be together. She told us she would be right back. Then, that's when it hit me. I started crying on Kyle's shoulder and he just comforted me the whole time. He was so calm, I envied him.
The lady came back out and said that one of the clerks from Salt Lake county was going to meet us at the salt lake county building and she would issue us a new marriage license. So, Kyle and I headed out to the car. On our journey to the parking lot, we came accross a few confused family members. We then had to explain everything, and then skipped on our way to the car. It felt so unreal to be driving around together while everyone was waiting for us to get married.
Anyway, we got our license and got married at 10 a.m. instead of 9 a.m. We had a fantastic luncheon with a beautiful reception. Then, we headed off to our honeymoon...

Proposal

Kyle asked me a week before if I wanted to go out on the boat with his parents Tuesday (Sept. 2nd) night for one last time before it got too cold. And of course, how could I say no?! So Tuesday rolled around and he came and picked me up around six. His parents were already at the lake because they were getting the boat out and everything.
We went out to the middle of the lake and decided to do some tubbing. Kyle and I went out for about ten minutes. As we were getting back on the boat, Lisa (Kyle's mom) said that she wasn't feeling very well, so she lied down for a bit. After a couple minutes, she asked if we could go back to the dock so she could get some medicine from inside the car.
We got back to the dock and Kim (Kyle's dad) said he would get off with her and that we could take the boat out but to come back in like thirty minutes. So we started heading back out onto the lake. On our way out, there was this boat that was blocking the way. As we got up closer, the kind man Kyle is, asked if everything was alright. The man said he was stuck or something and asked if we could pull him in. Of course I shrugged my shoulders and said "sure". Kyle had a smile on his face as always but I later found out he was thinking "come on man! right now?!" After we towed him as far as he wanted, we headed back out to the middle of the lake.
When we got out there, we just stopped the boat and talked for awhile. He reached inside of a compartment and pulled out a box. When I saw it, I kept telling myself not to jump to conclusions, that it's probably just a bracelet or something. But then he bent down on one knee and opened the box. The whole time all I could say was "oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh". He asked me to marry him but before I could say anything, he jumped up and hugged me. I kept laughing and said "Yes!"

When I got home and went down to my room, there were two dozen red roses arranged beautifully!
